In order to help all of our new and current employees succeed in their
careers, we have developed the 3 C’s of career development:
Certifications
GJM recognizes that certifications are valuable to both our firm and to you as an employee. We will work with you to achieve specific certifications by providing study materials, review assistance, and help with exam preparation. We encourage all employees to achieve the certification early in their careers and will provide any needed support.
CPE
Even if you have already received your CPA certification, continuing your education is vital to your success as an employee. We work with our employees to provide them with as much access to CPE credits as possible. GJM also provide reimbursement for all continuing professional
education credits.
Career Mentoring Program
“GJM works off of the “buddy” system. The system is set up so that you go to your buddy if you have any questions or concerns (who usually has one to two years of experience), followed by the ICA and then the partner. If you know it is a question regarding the client you can always go to the
ICA or partner first. Everyone at GJM is interested in helping you develop as a person and the buddy system and open door policy here really helps with that. I have never felt uncomfortable or unwelcomed when talking to anyone at GJM.” -Holly Shiple, Tax Associate
Internships:
GJM has a strong belief that experience leads to success. This is why we pride ourselves on our internship program. Our program allows students to experience the accounting world hands on before they graduate. Internships are offered in both the tax and audit departments, but exposure and experience in all of our service industries is available.
One of the best things about GJM is that students can experience the feel and activity of a large firm while still receiving the interaction and one-on-one training of a local firm.
